- Hazardous waste

When a cleanout crew makes more sense in Westborough
The transfer station works well for regular trash and a few odd items. Big cleanouts are another story, because there's no town curbside bulky pickup to fall back on.

Can I get a short-term pass to the Westborough transfer station for a cleanout?
Yes. The Board of Health sells a one-day pass for $15 and a one-month pass for $20, cash or check, with a limit of three passes a year. The pass goes on your dashboard and is only good for the day or month written on it.
Can I bring a dump trailer to the Westborough transfer station?
Not a large one. The town's rules bar commercial vehicles, pickups with dump bodies or bed hoists, box trucks, and utility trailers over 10 feet long. Cars, SUVs, and residential pickups under 11,500 pounds GVW are allowed.
How much are Westborough Pay As You Throw bags?
A roll costs $10 and holds either ten 15-gallon bags or five 33-gallon bags. Stores in town, including Roche Bros., Westborough Ace Hardware, and Stop & Shop, sell them. People in apartment buildings and households with private curbside service don't use the program.
What can't I bring to Westborough's Household Hazardous Waste Day?
The 2026 flyer excludes electronics, latex paint, appliances, tires, propane and helium tanks, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, medications, sharps, and construction debris such as siding and shingles. Latex paint can go in the trash once it has dried out.
Where do Westborough residents take used motor oil and antifreeze?
To the DPW facility at 131 Oak Street, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check in with the attendant in the garage before you pour anything.
